"Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Blogs are also characterized by the ability of the community to respond to your blog.
Blogs are highly respected by search engines if they pertain to a narrowed topic or field. Blogs by respected parties of an industry are widely read. GOOGLE, in particular seems to respect the contents of blogs and often ranks a consistently updated blog highly on its search engine.
Social Media
Basically the simplest accepted definition of Social media are media for social interaction, using highly accessible and scalable communication techniques. Social media is the use of web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication into interactive dialogue.
